I've owned Fords my entire driving career. Some better than others. My grandpa worked for Ford and I have a good relationship with my dealer. I like the product and also have some inside connections, so I chose to stay with the devil I know vs the devil I dont know. I've also learned over...
FordTechOne, I'm learning a lot. Thanks for the discussion here. What I'm a bit confused on is based ont he logic that the oil pickup is deep within the pan, how does being low a qt of oil affect the phasers as you stated in the post about shutter and running the engine low on oil causing...
Will see what fordtechone says but based on this I’m wondering if it’s lack of oiling from the incline and not a low oil condition. I’m just a laymen though. Smart but not a tech
@FordTechOne i was just thinking. When I would get the knock at idle which wasn’t as common as the cold start rattle when it started happening , it was generally at a bit of an incline sideways. For instance, backing my boat into my driveway and one side of the truck had to go up a bit on a...
Thats interesting because just about everyone I know with this motor had shutter after the reprogram and had to go back. My buddy at Ford Performance said don't even bother with it if you get the new hardware. Also what is considered low?
So, it was reprogrammed(21B10), the cam phasers done(21N03), then must have had shutter and put back to original programming. (21N08).
I dont think ive seen a truck actually stay on the 21B10 software out of all my friends that have these trucks. Sample size about 10.
I believe this, I did my brakes all around at 65k and had halfish left with prob 60 percent highway and 40 city and a few offroad events each year. Already had the parts so did them anyway.
I have a buddy that just did a coolant flush and is having the issue. Seems strange I know since the thermostat was not pulled out but low and behold!
Yea what Ford Tech One said, I had same issue. Thermostat solved it
Having custom ordered my 2018 Gen2 and forgone the tailgate step and did option the moonroof, I would never do another moonroof on a truck I offroad. I've had more issues albeit they are fixed but just dont trust it, plus its extra weight up top. Plus side is it keeps the scratches to a minimum...
Buddy kept getting late registration notices for a car that had been registered in Michigan for over a year and he bought a house in MI. CA is something special. He had to call like 5 times and have the same conversation with them.
I havent had mine happen yet but its often garaged and I sprayed a bunch of corrosion x in my tailgate every year so wondering if its dialelectic properties are saving me when the truck is out in a lot of rain etc.... My tonnue cover also "holds" the tailgate a bit with friction, so when i...
If you could have someone look in person you could tell if it was truly a low mileage truck, basic wear items, underbody etc could be looked at. You couldnt tell a few k mileage difference based on that but you could a much larger discrepancy
