That old saying that the competitor brand fanboys say, how does it go? Fix Or Repair Daily. That’s what it’s really starting to look like. Never have owned a Ford product outside a 2019 F550 dump body that I bought brand new and use for my construction work. No problems so far on that but about to pick up a Gen 3 this week and I’m getting scared. Seeing a bunch of problems so far. Transmission, snapped Axels, rattles, what’s next? Where is the quality control Ford?
Been talked about a million times. Either you’re in or out…

There will be problems with all makes. Let’s not overreact.
Yes I understand that. Every brand has their issues but these are occurring with such low miles. Then they have to be taken in and they sit a month while they wait on parts for repair. It’s such an inconvenience. Not bashing Ford. Love the truck and have a deposit on one but it’s upsetting to read.

When I bought my '20 Gen 2 I was on forum reading all kinds of horror stories --- when I traded it with 25K miles on Gen3 zero issues. None.

Here we are at Gen3 year 3 and same thing. As mentioned above in or out. There is always a TRX...no issues there.

Covid changed quality on ALL brands. Supply chain has caused delays on parts. It all sucks I get it.

OP keep us updated...

I get that these things happen. They are trying to pump them out and get them delivered and sold as fast as they can. Just kind of upsetting to read this kind of stuff every few days. My brother had a TRX and I drove it many times. Wasn’t crazy about it aside from the power and sound. The Raptor has appealed to me for a while. Fingers crossed…

You could have the new Tundra, and have your entire rear axle come off while driving. Or the waste gate issues. TRX has plenty of problems, also. It’s not just Ford. You just pick your poison these days. The American brands just take the brunt of criticism. I can say that, as I had two Gen3 Tacomas, and both had problems. And to be clear, I’m not a brand loyalist. I had a Gen2 for a short period while I decided If a Gen3 was what I wanted. Now I have a ‘23 that I just picked up. Things will happen. Just like life. Sometimes you die early, sometimes you die late. Enjoy the ride, man. Life is short, and we aren’t taking any of this shit with us.

I've owned Fords my entire driving career. Some better than others. My grandpa worked for Ford and I have a good relationship with my dealer. I like the product and also have some inside connections, so I chose to stay with the devil I know vs the devil I dont know. I've also learned over the last 10 years Ford will take care of you (emissions issues on a 12 superduty, cam phasers on 18 raptor #gen2forlife) but it will take them a couple years to sort everything out, admit to the greater mistake and come out with customer satisfaction programs. I work for a well known software company. Our customers find things as well, and at first we deny it, then realize there is a problem, then write a patch etc...., now we probably do this in days or weeks vs month and years at Ford, but some of it is the human condition.

That being said, Ford powertrain is quite the dumpster fire over the past couple of years, but i don't follow the other manufacturers very close. I did own a 16 gen 6 camaro 2 SS for about 6 months that I bought from a buddy, Couldn't wait to dump that thing and he had sorted most of the issues, Tons of trans issues, rattling active exhaust, headliner, the list goes on.... Difference there is I didnt have good dealer relationships and almost merged into 3 people so that thing was gone. Bought My 350R and wouldn't sell it for the world.

That's normal. Infant mortality is always higher than mid-term. Long-term, things wear out and failure rate goes up again.

Then they have to be taken in and they sit a month while they wait on parts for repair.

This is complete bullshít. Mine sat for two months for a simple fix. I very nearly sold it back and bought a different brand. Sometimes they sit because of dealer backlog - they're selling unneeded service to ignorant owners and are "too busy" to address warranty. That's a huge black eye for the brand.
