I recently replaced a motor in my Gen 1 that had been badly abused (PO didn't change the oil for >60k miles). Total cost was about $8k, which included a remanufactured 6.2 longblock for an e350 that I found on Marketplace, a bunch of calls to Ford Performance to verify it's actually the same...
Sorry - I never replied to this. I found it on Facebook Marketplace. It was a bit sketchy with no paperwork or warantee info but appeared to be a 'new' Ford remanufactured engine with the factory manual and warning tags still attached in the plastic bags. It was an E350 model but after a lot...
Here's a side by side look. Very difficult to tell them apart. (OEM on the right)
*Note the angled part at the bottom of the OEM is because it had corroded and a bit of the plastic broke off. It should be square like the eBay.
i was able to solve the loose pellet issue by adding a spacer. A piece of shrink wrap only shrunk on the spring end, the pellet is still free floating for a good conection.
The coils themselves are hard to tell apart. The OEM has circular injection mold tool marks on it, the eBay does not...
I recently had a new [remanufactured] engine installed in my 2014 (I'll do a separate post on that topic) and have been getting random misfires. In an attempt to rule out things I wanted to replace coils to see if that might be the issue. I have new boots, resistor pellets, plugs and wires, but...
"Misfire on cylinder #1. Turn out I had a bad coil pack."
Hi Pete. I'm getting a P0300 error and saw that you posted about a bad coil pack. How did you figure this out from a Random Misfire? Did you eventually get a code for that specific coil pack?
Thanks!

Congrats on the new truck!
Is the AC issue only when you turn on the compressor or anytime the fan is blowing? (Try it on heat for instance). It's a very common issue for the recirculation actuator to break and drop a little knob down onto the fan and you can hear it anytime the fan is...
"Nobody knows for sure."
Ain't that the truth.
I've since discovered with a reasonable degree of confidence that the longblocks are identical including the cam specs and phasers (which I've confirmed). The SD long block is going into my Raptor with all of the original Raptor ancillary parts...
Hi all -
I posted about this earlier but wanted to bring this up again to see if anyone else on here has more info. The engine on my 2014 failed (long story). I was able to buy an unused Ford remanufactured E-350 long block for cheap. I've been around the world and back trying to figure out...
Thank you - I'm getting everything from 'Theyre the same and different SAE tests = different power numbers' to 'Extra oil channel for F250/F350' to 'More torque vs. HP in Super Duty'. But I've not found anyone yet who knows for sure.
Do you happen have a contact number for Daniel Crowder...
Bump -
If anyone knows for sure - I'm still trying to confirm the cams in the 6.2 Raptor / F250 / F350 / E350 / Remanufactured Engines - are all the same [lobes / performance] and that I do not need to replace cams in the remanufatured E350 engine I got to go back into my Raptor. The old...
Does anyone have the technical specs on the 'various' cams in the 6.2L? It sounds like there is only one cam design for all of the 6.2L variants. Any way to confirm this?
What I've gathered so far is
OE Production heads (Specific to Raptor)
AL3Z-6250-F
AL3Z-6250-E
Remanufactured heads...
Replying to multiple comments:
"The cams are the same for all F-150s with the 6.2, Raptor included"
How can I confirm this? There is a great deal of discussion about the SD cams being different. Is the cam part number visible in the remanufactured heads on the HC2Z-6006-ABRM engine? if I can...
Hi - I'm in the process of locating a replacement engine for my 2014 6.2L. (It's a long story - Appears previos ownrer may have not changed oil for several years and it was massively sludged and failed from oil starvation) I've located a 6.2 remanufactured long block part HC2Z-6006-ABRM which...
Is this when you are barely moving, like a pulsing sensation in the transmission with a frequency maybe 3-4x per second? ? Mine does this too and it feels sort of like a sticky torque converter trying to hook up when being held back by the brakes. Not really sure how to describe this otherwise...
I've discovered that my new 2014 has a Ford ambient lighting system. I found the wiring when poking around but it didn't work. It was a loose connection. Easy fix and now I have ambient under dash and cup holder lights.
Anybody know much about this system? Not much info out there about it...
I'd have never gotten those lower boots off without these. I thought they'd be useless but got them just in case. Wow - $9 on Amazon well spent! (I later realized Harbor Freight has them too)
A followup for anyone seeing this in the future. My stalling issue was plug related. 4 of the 8 lower plugs had the center pin come out with the boot, and one of the upper coil boots had the resistor pellet basically disintegrated. I would imagine these were the original plugs. Once I got...
