Ya'll are in Big Trouble Now. I have used up all of my Summer Adventure Shots. It's time to dig into the Archives!
Today's Archive Adventure takes us to NINAS ( North Island Naval Air Station, Coranado, CA )
I took the kids to stay at Base Hotel, extremely hard to get a reservation. Private Beach and all the fun of Coronado Island.
I was able to get these great shots of the kids in the Ocean and the SEALS in the background training.
Oppurtunites like this rarely happen for me, I'm so glad I had the camera with me.
On this same trip, Pre-9/11, we were able to board and tour a Nuke Attack Sub, That still had it's missiles on board! So Cool.
Sub Folks are a Special Breed! You talk about TIGHT quarters! Denzel Washington was Not Jogging around on this Boat for his PT.
Sorry No Sub pictures for obvious reasons :(Kelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 467.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 481.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 482.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 483.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 486.JPG

If you ever see someone in the ARMY wearing a SCUBA Badge...Don't challenge them to a PT contest! You had to be a PT Super Stud to even get considered for SCUBA School. I'm talking well into the extended PT grading scale. We had Super Studs come back from school, telling tales of how they got their Azzzxzz Smoked! 5-10 mile Beach Sand runs, 5-20 mile Open Water Swims...Kelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 495.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 496.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 497.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 498.JPGKelsey SD- Helicopter 4-07 499.JPG

You are sure right about that one. We had a lil 5'7 130lb E2 in our Scout plt and this guy would run the whole damn plt in the dirt. This guy could not get worn out no matter what we did. After our long runs we'd stretch and he would go run another 20-30 mins. He ended up reenlisting for Scuba school. Never heard from him again but as far as the physical part this guy shouldn't have had a problem.

Killer Shots! Seen that a good bit having been stationed there. Men always out playing in the water. Speaking of animals....we use sea lions and Dolphins when dealing with underwater mines. I've been out with them on the East Coast on an LCM8 doing Mine Recovery. We use mammal recovery gear instead of Target Detecting Devices and they hook a latch to the back of the Mine which is attached to a float. Had a chic at a party ask me what I did and I told I was a Mineman. She started screaming at me about using Sea Lions to locate bombs. I laughed and told her use Dolphins as well, West Coast. ;)
