OMG!!! Hello, are you f'n serious?? There's a ******** loose bolt in your oil pan and you think its okay to just leave it there! Somebody needs a slap in the noggin to wake the fk up!! Like others said, have it towed with a note over the ignition key hole (DONT START, NO OIL IN ENGINE).

Also, I would want to be there when they pull the pan off to make sure there isn't a bolt missing and FORD just left a spare in the pan by mistake! Don't trust dealers, especially ones that tell you to just leave it, its okay???

Easy pal.

I feel your pain. I was not happy having my whole dash removed to replace all the blend door actuators. Made it clear before they started that I was **** and a perfectionist so best they took their time. Drove a new F250 Platinum diesel they gave me while it was in the shop.

Well.... at least you found it early. Really says something about doing your own maintenance.

Get it removed. Find a dealer you trust. You can check the dealer feedback thread.

Where are you located, maybe somebody can recommend someone.

And lastly, get Crystal @FordService involved.

I would have them pull it apart and figure out where it came from. This one I would imagine Ford corporate would like to see. Then because the pan is never going to be correct, it should have a new pan installed. If you have a good dealer and mechanic working on it, then it should be right when finished. They will need to do an alignment on it. But if it was me, I would be crawling underneath and checking all of the bolts afterwards.

Jeezus,

Is anyone else concerned with the fact that this may be a main cap bolt that has come out?

Ok...I get the whole "there's a bolt banging around in the oil pan" thing...but it had to come from somewhere...and if it's a main cap bolt that has somehow come loose...I'd be more concerned about what happens to the engine next.

Tow it and get them to tear it apart. I know it sucks...but better safe than sorry.

Just my opinion.

Good luck either way.

I am concerned it came from a main bearing. I'm also concerned about the whole process.

Crystal? Any thoughts?
