Just a thought these trucks could really benefit from having a filter sock as they are off-road use. I haven't had any problems with my K&N yet but a sock is going on my AirAid when I switch intakes.

Most intakes add a litte hp/tq up top in high rpms at wot.. generally speaking 7-12 hp/tq . I like the kn drop ins too. that size fits a whole slu of diff trucks.

yea, well I may be off on the truck thought process, but on my GT500 the CAI and Tune was significant, and substantial HP and the tune had a purpose. Oh yea, and the price was better and a FRPP product with warranty! Not sure what the tune is "supposed" to do, and the HP "generally speaking" is low, but the price and purpose just don't match in my book. Good luck thought!

I'm not familiar with 5 Star tunes, but this is definitely a good deal. I've paid nearly $500 for a tuner alone, and those intakes run in the $250+ range.

5 Star; are the custom tunes designed for this intake on a Raptor specifically? If so, that adds some serious value too.

Any dyno sheets available for posting? That would be helpful to see.

Good stuff guys!

Thats my point, anyone can sell a CAI and a "tune" but what is the tune doing? Has it been tested and can output be provided? Just remember one thing, I went with the FRPP tune and CAI on my GT500 for several very good reasons! One, it was backed by Ford and warrantied... Good luck if your third party tune does damage to your motor! FRPP tunes are also very conservative, but done by they guys who design and built the motor... Not saying third party tunes are not worth it, but there are risks, and those risks also carry a price tag. SVT will more than likely come out with a CAI and tune, usually always do. When that happens it will at least carry a warranty, and this in itself is better than the any risks I can think of. Just saying, and my .02

I can't say much because my tuner is not a vendor but Ford engineers have him on speed dial.

sent from ...... I don't know where I am.
First point: you can say whatever you want Tank. This place is about YOU, the member. Members talking about vendors, supporting or not, its not only perfectly ok, but its encouraged! We're here to share info, member to member.

Second point: This wouldn't be the place to share info about another vendor. This section of the forums is 5 Star's house. Lets respect it, and leave discussions about competing products for new threads or posts outside of their area.

Make sense?

No worries guys, I don't have a problem earning anyones trust or earning their business. I have nothing but respect for all other calibrators out there. I do want to say making wot dyno runs and posting is not a complete calibration theres more to it. We put our own calibrations to work daily via work or pleasure, We focus on things such as how truck idles cold / hot and how it functions towing a good size trailer. We are after a complete calibration.
