or just aim them a **** hair lower

Ahhhhh the man wins a cigar!!!!! Been running non DOT lights for 30 years with no issues and THAT is the solution my friends. One reason why mine don't have all of the "bling" on them to draw attention. The street queens want that stuff I only want the performance. Go with the "bling" will draw attention --- some of it not good given certain circumstances with LEO's. Be smart.

I like the idea of strolling into court with the headlight in hand. Play dumb and let them do the explaining. If it were a criminal case, the burden of proof would be on them to prove the lights are illegal. Show them the DOT stamp. Explain that the trim of the light was painted and maybe that's why the officer suspected the lights to be aftermarket.

Take a picture of a factory Raptor and explain while it is a flashy vehicle, the height of the vehicle and style of headlights are unchanged from factory. You win.

They don't have time to argue with you in traffic court. You wear a suit, buy the cop a coffee and bring some type of evidence for your case and many times they just don't want to bother and drop it. Crowded courts play to the advantage of intelligent folks with some evidence in hand.
