Flood/Wide Flood Question

Is anyone running these Whelens with the flood/wide flood/horizontal flood on the street? Are you getting flashed? I know they aren't street legal, but if the upper cutoff is significant enough it shouldn't be an issue.

Yukon and I run the 40x5 flood on the steet. Only had one person at a stop sign turned around and gesture me to shut them off. But I put on fox 3.0 and haven't adjust the whelens for new ride height

Thanks for the info. I think I'll use the Whelen for driving lights and use a DOT fog for street driving.

Here is an update post TRR with this lighting set up. I know WSI was originally concerned with mounting the lights this low on the truck. He was worried that the lights may take a beating from jumps and end up getting destroyed. I can confidently say, this location is absolutely the on of the BEST places for a set of these Whelen Micro pioneers. The lights have held up through the frigid cold of the Snoball500 run and the snow banks that the run could through at it. :driver: They have held up during the Little Sahara dune jumps, and now they have worked flawlessly at the Texas Raptor Run 2013. This year I was running the track with RPG Stage 4 confidence. So each chance I got to put it in the air, I did. :peace: During the TRR romping, I did bash my front stock skid plate. Did the Whelens flicker, move or otherwise become compromised??? Not one bit. :banana-mario:

Motomute ordered a set of these with the lower grill mounting bracket from WSI at TRR. I helped John get these installed. It took us about 40 minutes or so. I know Motomute was quite pleased with the new added offroad light. :happy160:

And now the WSI Whelens are available in accessorizing colors

When WSI introduced these at TRR, and with my new wrap (write up still to come), I just had to have them. They really set off the lines of the wrap and add that personality to my truck that I like.

Another thing that I found out at TRR is that you have to make sure you buy your Whelens though an authorized dealer, like WSI. There have been reported cases of knock off Whelens from China. Customers do not know they are knock offs until they send them back to Whelen to get fixed. It is at that time Whelen informs them they have knock off lights.

Thank you to WSI for providing an awesome mounting and lighting option for the lower grill. Let me know if you have any particular questions.

Considering this same setup right now. Winch, maybe some ambers on each side. Then maybe do spots on hood mounts.

Did anyone have an issue fitting the Whelens into the bumper? Did you have to cut the bumper or anything. We found we had to space the bracket forward a 1/4" and change the mounting holes because the ones on the bracket we too low and it was forcing the lights to be angled up when you went to tighten them.
