When are you going to be leaving for Michigan? I'm driving up there from south FL too. Likely leaving on the 14th or 15th.

Thats what I'm leaning towards. But then again there is a part of me that says I want to just solo the whole trip to say I did it. Make it my own little snowball 5000. I'm also thinking if I know I have to drive all the way back home, it will force me to be on better behavior when I'm on the actual run.

That is usually my opinions on things, sometimes it is fun just to say you did it... no matter how stupid it seems halfway though, or after.

That is also why my wife won't let me buy a trailer, she thinks that will give me permission wheel the trucks to breaking everytime I take them out.

Another quick bit of advice that I thought about.
Anyone running offroad lighting, it may be worth adding an amber or yellow film to some of your lights/LED bars to cut down on the reflection/glare off of the snow & increase contrasts of shapes in the snow.

Good suggestion. I switched my bulbs to Optilux yellow bulbs 6 months ago. I like them even regular night driving. They make animal eyes reflect a redish color, makes them easier to notice and they don't look like a mailbox with a couple reflectors on it

Leaving on that Wednesday morning early. About 5 am. Driving to Toledo. Spend nite there. Pick up my copilot then on to Detroit. Stay nite there and meet for the tour. That's my plan anyway. Weather conditions could change it . But I hope not. Is it time to go yet! I am ready. Jack

We use yellow fog lamps on our work trucks in winter and it makes a huge difference going through gas lease & wellsite roads, especially when the snow is flyin!

I may have missed it but I haven't seen any discussion about ORV permits. I assume they would be required?

Early in the Thread it was discussed a bit, I guess our 2012 ORV stickers will work for this.
Post 97 and 99 we talked a bit.
