Here's where I'm torn...

I want to see ridiculous snow-fall... something I could never experience in California. On the other hand, I also want the group to be able to successfully complete the course as planned.

Somewhere in the middle would be good... a huge amount of snow, but still passable... but barely. haha

In quite a few areas we want the snow and ground to remain frozen so they remain passable, when warm some spots become very soft & swampy.

We got boobie trapped by a few spots like there one winter in college. Moving along on nice trails then boom... stuck. Had to chip through 3/4" of muddy ice then dig the frame out of the sticky mud. It was a fun night still though

Just added to my packing list a steel round point garden shovel. Digging a 6000 lb Raptor out of mud up to it's frame rails is not my idea of fun.

Now watching some idiots doing it sounds frickin' awesome. I'm also adding some cigars and a folding chair just in case I get to see that!
