What about wax? do you have to apply wax at all to keep it looking good?

Not at all, just hand wash.

The wrap looks great, even when dirty. The Avery material fades about 1% per year.

A couple Cons, but can be overcome:

The truck has to be extremely clean. No wax residue, meaning it needs washed with dish soap. Also any bug guts that you don't get off will show through. Including any paint chips. They will show through like a small dent.

If you have had any aftermarket paint done, there is a small chance that when the wrap is removed, it can peel off the paint. That is if the repair was not done to the best of quality.

People will put their hands all over your truck. Luckily it's a wrap and won't harm the paint.

Typically the warranty period is only a few years. 3M only recommends to installers 2 years. If you get offered 3,4 or even 6 years for a 3M or Avery wrap, that is great.

The wrap is not forever. Expect about 4 to 6 years.

A wrap will still show pin striping, but will fade a little over time and in the sun.

Oh, couple more cons:

You cannot use a suction cup style mount like sticky whips or for go pros.

If you add run stickers or vendor stickers on top of the wrap, you may not get them off. Or if you do, the fade rate will leave a mark.

Talk to the place your considering having it done. It they are a reputable shop, they should be willing to tell you most of these, or be able to provide an answer to any of the above questions / issues.

Having ours wrapped today over graphics. After weighing the pros and cons we decided that replacing a panel is far cheaper than repainting if "something" happens.

Got it back from wrap. Extremely pleased!

Witchy, did you get a clear wrap with the raptor and raptor head on it? Hard to tell from the pic if your whole truck is wrapped or just the back end etc. It looks good though.

So no more going to the car wash and using the high pressure wand to wash your truck? I guess you run the risk of lifting the wrap with high pressure water.

The whole truck, with exception to part of the roof, is wrapped. We were going to put the decals under the wrap but by putting them over we can easily remove 2 panels and get new decals.

It is all wrapped with the xpel ultimate paint protection film. The a pillars and about 1ft of the roof from the windshield back. You cannot see the wrap at all. The decals on the side and hood where placed over the wrap so it would be easy to replace them if they get damaged or we get tired of them and want something else. All and all it was worth the money not to have to worry so much about rocks and bugs.
