I too would be in for a lightning style, how would the lightning style fair in the desert you think? I mean its away from the rear...

tips mite get a little blasted from the front tires just look what happens to the shock guards but other than that should be all right.

for a couple months I was wanting lightning style

but recently got concerned about it having a higher level of drone or cab noise as its closer.

I figure it would be better than behind rear tire in terms of getting bent by tall rocks but like cpt awesome said, would get pelted at high speed. I dont think they would get destroyed per se but may have lots of superficial dings on the surface
