2 things:
1. I would suspect the 4 same gauge pass through wires that terminate in the passenger side of the engine bay, would all be gauged big enough to carry 30 amp draw since you can connect ANY of them under the dash to the Aux 1 or 2 , 30 amp circuit.
2. I am going to install my Vision X 21" bumper bar tonight. It's right at 15 amps. I suppose the safe way would be to use Aux 1 or 2 and have some margin, but I hate to use up a 30 slot if I don't need to. ( for future equipment)
Thoughts?
2 wires are roughly 16 ga, the other two pass through a are probably 20ga. They are not all the same size
Your visionx should pull way less than 30 amps but check to be sure
The Vision x draws 15 amps...
And if the pass through wires are 16 and 20 ga then it's important to not use a 20 ga pass through hooked up to the yellow aux 1 and then wire up something thata draws a high amperage. I would have thought Ford would have put the 4 pass through wires gauged for worse case scenario, for any of the pass through to handle 30 amp draw.
The pass through wires are all 16 gauge. It is just the wires off the aux switches that are 16/20
All of my pass through wires were the same size as well.
My pass through were 12 ga.
