Looking around the site and I didn't notice any talk about winches (I could be wrong or blind) do you guys have any personal favorites or brands to stick with? For the Raptor would a 4,000 lbs-6,000 lbs or an 8,000 lbs-10.000 lbs winch be better? Electric/hyrdraulic whats the pro/con? Thanks gents and if this is in the wrong spot can the moderator move it for me.

well I don't know to much about winches, but i think the larger one would be way better for the Raptor, as for electric vs hydrualic, can't make any comments about that as I have no idea, but for brands, Warn industries makes some pretty good ones from what i've heard

Warn is the best, I have a 9500 on my trail rig, and a 12000 on the Power Wagon.

Another vote for Warn. They are the name that comes to most people's minds when you mention winches. I would say at least an 8000lb electric run off a separate deep cycle battery.

I've never really dealt with winches before but I am thinking of getting one sometime possibly... There any cons to the extra weight on the front?

You could put a front hitch on and get a Warn Multi Mount that sllides into a standard trailer hitch receiver. Run wiring to the front and back and be ready for anything. Warn is definately the premium winch on the market.
