Why would you not buy a gen 3?

The entire situation around the Gen 3 is ridiculous. Allocations? Orders? VINs? Build dates? Ship Dates? Mark-ups? Delivery dates?
I'm going to opt out for a year or whenever. When this process returns to something I recognize as normal I'll order or purchase from dealer stock.
Like I did with the Gen 2 That I have, and still like every time I walk up to and drive it.
Congratulations to every one with a new Gen 3.
I'm looking forward to joining your club as soon as the situation allows.

This is where I'm at too. I don't hate gen 3s. They look like awesome trucks. I'm just not jumping on one this year. Next year, maybe. By the end of 2022--probably.

No V8 and no scab, other than that the truck is sick, if I didn't already have a gen 1 scab, I would be very interested in getting a code orange or amb 37.

Yes, small hidden ones. Doesn't look like an SUV with a box.

If you ever actually drive both, you'll know what the real difference is. Handling is different and turning radius is really different!

I called maybe 20+ dealers trying to find a 2021 for a reasonable price, I was willing to pay over sticker. Every single one wanted at least $10k+ in ADM. Fortunately I found one dealer with a 37 pkg incoming at MSRP. I got lucky, but the whole situation is a mess. The dealer model breaks when supply is so limited. 95% of of us know what we want to order, and would rather communicate with Ford directly than have to find a competent middle man. Shouldn't have to cold call dealerships to find a truck to buy, totally backwards.

Tech. Huge reason to not buy Gen 3. I spend way more time fixing computer problems now than I did twenty years ago. Now vehicles are becoming rolling computer networks with software written by kids who couldn't cut it in silicon valley. They jam in every possible worthless feature because they can and then the customer beta tests it. It's insane.

I was responding to a comment that the screw had too many doors when it had the same number as a scab.lol.

I have not driven a scab , but have rode in them, and I agree that the turning radius is better. There are turns that I have to use a lot more throttle to make when long traveled scabs can make them with less. That is not to say that they are sliding around them as well, but it seems to make the turns easier.
