Why is no manufacturer building a "Raptor Killer"?

Is it that far fetched to think that manufacturers realize that a consumer can buy a stock truck, put 20k worth of mods into it and be a Raptor killer. Isn't that hard to do if you really think about it. Just look at BJ Baldwins Toyota. He basically supercharged it and added suspension mods and it'd run circles around a stock Raptor. Toyotas are much cheaper too.

Buy a Ram Rebel, supercharge it, upgrade shocks and you'd have a Raptor killer for less than what Raptors are selling for these days. And you'd have a truck that would have real V8 sound too.

I loved Procol Harum. Loved them.

Broken Barricades was my favorite album of theirs.

You were OK til you smoked the crack that made you think you could take a Ram Rebel and turn it into a Raptor beater.

And the "real V8 sound" provides a real touch of douchery

Bjs tundra cost over a 100k to build not exactly a very good example of what your trying to say .

And ram rebels have air suspension which is complete garbage off-road and would need a complete redesign to run king or fox shocks in it so your theory is incorrect there as well.

So you say buy a tundra ... least 40k to get some amenities.... supercharge it prolly around just under 10k installed then to beat raptor suspension looking at another 10k minimum.... so
Your at 60k with no warranty nah I'll take my raptor with warranty I paid 60k for thanks

After BJ's $12k headliner there's only 8k left

Dodge may come out with the Hellcat powered Ram. Seems to be a decent truck, but who knows how much R&D went into it or if they just slapped some suspension parts on it and called it complete.

To be honest, I don't think many manufacturers thought the Raptor(Gen1) was going to be successful when it first came out. Economy was still meh, and out comes a truck that gets 11/16 mpg and has a poor payload.

It's a niche market. Even with the Gen 2's seeing ADMs in 17, some manufacturers may not see it being worth it spending the time and money building a truck that can compete with the Raptor.

Fixed it for ya'
Love that song. Blue Öyster Cult is an American hard rock band formed on Long Island, New York, in 1967, whose most successful work includes the hard rock songs " The Reaper", "Godzilla" and "Burnin' for You".

More cow bell!

Yeah I’m sure that’s what manufacturers are thinking. “How can we make this truck as cheap as possible so our customer can spend his money on aftermarket products”
