Why is no manufacturer building a "Raptor Killer"?

Im sure ram will be in the game soon. Their concept was right there. They have nothing to lose. The hellcat has been great for them. They came out with the very limited demon. They just stated the regular challenger sales are doing very well because of the demon in the media. If ram comes with their truck it will only make the raptor better in the future. Ford has a mustang coming to market with more power very soon. They had one years ago with the gt500. I like competition, I love my raptor, but ford can do even better.

same reason Ford 'aint buildin' a DEMON killer

I thought about that car when I was trying to think of other cars without competition, but that truly is a low production niche vehicle.

When we're done talking about no other company making a "Raptor killer" we can talk about why no one builds a Jeep Wrangler killer.

The reasons are many. And obvious.

Sadly, from the rumors going around the new 2020 Bronco may be aimed at the Jeep Wrangler market. I was hoping for a more fullsized SUV and maybe future Braptor.

The halo vehicles always sell in their limited numbers but there really isn't a huge market for these trucks. Probably the same reason no one has really tried to break into the Jeep market.

Plus I bet Ford has a deal with Fox that says they can't sell to any manufacturers making a truck directly competing with the Raptor, and there really isn't another shock company out there that can put out OEM quality shocks in such high numbers.

What? Huh? If you're putting the Raptor in the "Halo vehicle" space it's not a true limited production vehicle. While it's not sold in F-150 numbers I wouldn't call it a limited production vehicle.

As for why "no one has really tried to break into the Jeep market" it's complicated. The Jeep defines the market it's in. The Jeep IS the market it's in. It's an off road first vehicle that has had its on-road manners improved.

It has solid axles. Short wheel base. Even shorter overhangs. Got lots of ground clearance. And, most importantly, it has multiple decades head-start on the competition.

Making a vehicle better than the Jeep is easy for manufacturers. Making it better off road is VERY difficult with the on road vehicles they have.

Maybe the Bronco will go after it but I doubt it. It likely will be an on roader with decent off road capabilities. But if Ford invests in its off road capabilities in time it could be modified further which could make it more interesting to off roaders.

The vehicle to watch, IMO, is the Baby Raptor! If done right it will beat the Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon and the Taco. And it could even take sales away from the upcoming Jeep pickup assuming it has good (low speed) off road capabilities.

I thought I read somewhere back 3 or 4yrs back that Chevy had something in the works to go against the Raptor with the same Fox shocks as the Raptor.
