Why does everyone hate the B&O stereo?

B&O system sounds fine to me.
The Sony system in my 14’ sounds fine to me
The radio in my wife’s Murano whatever that is sounds fine to me
The radio in my 08’ mustang sounds fine to me except when the Shaker 1000 gets too loud with bass.
My 08 Dodge Ram stereo sounded fine
Two toyota trucks prior to that....
And practically ever vehicle I have owned in the last 20 years has sounded fine to me.

Guess I just don’t care about sound that much as long as I can hear it.

Have you ever really listened to a "good" stereo. Good being a relative term. But a system in a car where someone spent time and money to put in a system. I can assure you, even the most expansive "factory" system will never compete with a true "good" system.

In a home, or a car. If you ever experience a true "good" system, then you will know why the B&O system sucks.

Kind of the same. And yes, I *have* heard a truly good system. Both at home and in a car. Hell, on my 2012 I had a local shop basically re-do everything along with the JL Stealth Box woofer and man it sounded fantastic.

And yet... I seem to be perfectly fine with this current "B&O" system. I'd like some more bass at times, sure... but given all the hassle and $$$ apparently involved in replacing it I'm just not falling all over myself to do it. Most of the time, it sounds more than pleasing enough that I don't think, "Man this sucks."

So to that I will thank whatever Gods we each believe in that I wasn't born an audiophile with some super-discriminating ear... life seems easier this way. Now that said... should money become less of a concern down the line, what the Hell... I may opt for some stereo upgrades. We shall see. I think I'll be just fine either way, which is nice. haha

When I first started to drive, it seemed to be a contest as to who had the best car audio system. Now as I'm a crotchety old man, I find I listen to music less and less and more to talk radio. I still do appreciate a good music system so we will see.

If anyone here has an Escalade, I wonder how the B&O compares to it? I have never heard a better stock system than the Bose in our Platinum.

No I have not. I don’t care that much about how good sound is to even bother doing so as I think factory systems are good enough to me. Yes I understand there is better and there should be. I would never expect a car manufacturer to put in the best system out there, that is left for the aftermarket systems as it should

For an OEM system the B&O is fine for the "Majority" of owners. I've purchased XLT's with base systems and spent money on upgrading, however most buyers don't want the hassle, expense or potential issues. If you have no knowledge of stereo system components and installation, it would be overwhelming to the average buyer.

OEM is Perfect for me and is under warranty. My system rocks at level 15, next guy might want to hear it at +20. Could it be Improved? Anything can be improved. Again for the majority of owners it's a good value or upgrade over the base system.

If Ford invested in a true highly quality system by some folks standards it would be reflected in the price of the truck, to which most folks wouldn't want to spend the money on.

one of those fancy signal convertors, and a traxx intercom with $1500 per headsets.

I'm going the cheap route because I don't need HD audio for old country music and my codriver chatters like a woodpecker on ******* anyway. ( which is one of PCI's intercoms with dsp and bluetooth.)

Nobody mentioned anything about the content you're using. Big thank you to Noah @The Car Stereo Company who helped a lot to edemucate me on how to properly burn all my Cd's to a USB with the WAV lossless format. The system sounds tremendously better with the USB as a source. He was a giant help since I had never burned anything, never used a USB for music, and didn't know shit about all this new tech. I still have a box of 8 tracks in my basement!

Burning CD's... Ahh, the 90's... I remember them well.
