Why 700hp instead of 705hp?

No reason to get upset. To your point though, there is additional weight for options to be added to that 5,886 lb curb weight. So a high package, 37 raptor with moonroof, its right about 6,000 lbs which would put the R around 6,100 lbs. My TRX has the moonroof as well as the Level 2 package which includes all the same stuff and weighs 6450, on 37s. So I actually over estimated by 50 lbs from my original point if we are comparing same option trucks.

The Raptor R is 350 lbs less than a comparably optioned TRX with the added weight of 37s. Wouldn't exactly call that lightweight for either.
Well I’m going off what you SAY your TRX weighs w/ all those options & 37”s (which for sure come w/ a weight penalty unless their the Raptor specific KO2s) & I don’t understand how that’s possible when that mid-optioned TRX C&D tested WITHOUT the sunroof, but w/ a handful of other options including that level 2 package you mention, on factory 18”s w/ factory 35”s weighed an official 6,781 lbs on a certified scale as reported by C&D’s test crew, journalists w/ no reason to inflate to deflate that # and somehow your special TRX weighs 331 lbs LESS than that truck while including that heavy ass moonroof & aftermarket 37”s

Again….I’m not just “stating” this- I’m backing it up, these forums should be somewhat factual & relevant given many people lean on the info here to make decisions when buying near 6 figure offroad trucks.

So don’t spout BS. Make a silly claim about your TRX somehow weighing less than any other TRX w/ the same options- AND you added 37”s to it. Show a scale ticket or else….I’m calling BS (as does Ram, C&D, & every other place that’s tested/weighed these trucks)

We can do this all day but you’re starting to look foolish. You like your TRX, got it. There’s plenty to like w/ it, but the fact is it’s way heavier than a Raptor almost any way you cut it & your claims make no sense. Most likely Your truck weighs close to 7k lbs bro. I’ll believe Ram & C&D not some random TRX owner chirping on a Raptor forum.

Just added the scale ticket as requested. I had to use an approved scale for CA registration, which you'll also see attached. Here is my truck as it was weighed. No BS claims here. Rock rails and tonneau cover sound like the only things that would compensate for the weight. Otherwise, I don't know how mine is that much lighter.

I agree there is no way to cut it where the TRX is lighter. Just don't inflate the difference to strengthen your argument.

I'm on this forum because I really want a Raptor R but am not interested in paying ADM. I love my TRX but would imagine the R is more capable offroad, which is what matters most to me.

It's probably underrated. Remember the Bronco Raptor? Right before production started its horsepower rating was updated suddenly.

The R is quite a bit lighter, maybe 500-600 lbs. the R will be faster and more capable. Most screaming idiots will be upset about the 2 HP And not being “faster” but it will be quite a margin at that weight difference.
A 2hp difference is negligible at best, I can’t imagine what kind of person would bring up having 2hp more then the other guys truck.

The kind of guy who spends an hour inspecting the fit and finish on a used car, but doesn't crawl under it to look for leaks, rust, and damaged parts, because there's no "app" for that.

Well now I’m totally confused- wasn’t trying to be a ****, as you can tell I researched this pretty heavily already - I have a close friend who’s a MOPAR no car guy & while I’ve always been a GM leaning guy, am on my 2nd Raptor. My buddy was contemplating trading out his ‘17 Ram + Yamaha cruiser + cash for a TRX as a hobby/toy/weekend vehicle (he DDs a diesel VW Jetta w/ stickshift so that helps justify the terrible TRX mpgs lol) & we got into it last week ironically about the pros/cons of the TRX & I was saying the same stuff I am now in regards to weight. If that’s what the scale said for ya that’s what it said- but you can see how it’s confusing given what other outlets/reviewers/journalists etc have shown.

Just odd in general

All that being said- A gen2 or gen3 ttV6 raptor will be superior offroad to a TRX so assume the RaptoR will be better as well. TRX has upper hand on road in some ways. People complain about price on all of em, but as I’ve said compared to anything else of decent size w/ that kinda power levels you’re looking mostly at souped up Euro SUVs that don’t have anywhere near the capability of these super offroad trucks, ride rougher on road, many basically CANT go offroad, & cost the same or much more.

I’d much rather have a TRX than a lambo Urus….& I’ve driven both
