Thoughts on the auto stop/start?

The more I see avalanche the more I'm regretting going white
So just wanted to post a quick update on the truck. Still loving it, but ran into two items that are a bit disappointing. The first may be operator error in that I can't get the diff to lock in 2H (started a thread on this). The second has to do with manual shifting. So I tried using the paddle shifters in manual mode this morning and it was more than disappointing. After you pull the paddle you can get a cup of coffee and go to a movie before it changes gears. I know it is an automatic and not a dual clutch, but not sure why the put the paddles if it is going to shift that slow. They do work well for locking out gears which I have used a bit while breaking in the truck.
Finally, I haven't checked the MPG difference, but sport mode really seems to be they way to go unless you are just cruising on the highway.
Don't back off. Avalanche is a great color, but I really like the sharp contrast of the Oxford white against the black trim, hence, the reason I ordered Oxford white.
Thanks for the updates. Hope you have time for a few quick questions:
1) When accelerating normally, at what RPM does the truck usually want to shift. I know it will probably shift at higher RPMs in the first two gears than the later gears.
2) When you shift from Normal to Sport mode, how do the RPMs change on the gear shifts? How much higher is the motor revving and how much more responsive does it feel?
3) How does the truck ride on pavement? I did two brief test rides in a Gen1 and thought the truck would soak up some of the smaller bumps better than it did. After reading the reviews and hearing how flat the Gen2 corners, I am not expecting the super soft ride that I want.
