And yes it sounds TERRIBLE in comparison to my Gen 1 with a cat back. My wife kind of chuckled when I started it for the first time and she then brought it up many times while we were X-mas shopping yesterday afternoon. She's good like that. We were laying in bed and at like 1am she leans over and says "I did tell you that your new Raptor sounds like shit right" :)

Sounds like she's giving you a green light for exhaust mods! To appease her of course!

That's exactly what I said while we were out shopping again today. My exact words over lunch were "so I guess this means that I've the checkbook to make this sound right, right?"

Review update

So just wanted to post a quick update on the truck. Still loving it, but ran into two items that are a bit disappointing. The first may be operator error in that I can't get the diff to lock in 2H (started a thread on this). The second has to do with manual shifting. So I tried using the paddle shifters in manual mode this morning and it was more than disappointing. After you pull the paddle you can get a cup of coffee and go to a movie before it changes gears. I know it is an automatic and not a dual clutch, but not sure why the put the paddles if it is going to shift that slow. They do work well for locking out gears which I have used a bit while breaking in the truck.

Finally, I haven't checked the MPG difference, but sport mode really seems to be they way to go unless you are just cruising on the highway.

I just got a picture from a customer of a white SCREW in a dealers inventory in the Philadelphia area. It was from the customer I have our first Raptor ordered for who lives in the Philly area.

Well, picked her this morning and it's definitely way faster than my tuned, exhaust, & CAI Gen 1. I don't think it shifts nearly as smooth as reported and it kind of seems to be thinking about the gear selection from time to time when going slow. Just my observations from driving it a whole 37 miles so far. The cockpit area is really nice and the seats seem more comfortable and just nicer all around. It rides every bit as nice as my old truck. SYNC 3 is much easier to use than SYNC 1 was.
