Ok Reptar I'm curious. What's the traditional style?

With the pulley off the very front of the case, and a rear inlet. Rather than a pulley off to the side and a front inlet. I understand the design changes for efficiencies, etc., but man after all these years wrenching on L's with top entry and rear entry blowers, I just can't quite dig the look of the front entry.

Here's two whipple installs I did within the last month on buddys' trucks. A 3.4 Whipple on a Red 01 Lightning, and a 2.3 Whipple on a Blue 03 Lightning.

Ok i got it now..i wonder if my dealer is in Graham, Tx..Bailey Auto Plaza?

I'm not sure on them. You can check and see if there a Ford Racing dealer, if they are, they may have done some SC installs.

I know most pepole don't like change but some times change is good.

I really like the look of the new SC for the Raptor, much more compact and clean looking and I'm not into all that polished tube look. It drives me crazy when guys get creative and go overboard with air to air intercoolers and run tubes all over the place.

There aren't any polished tubes on either of those whipples I just installed on Lightnings, and there aren't any air to air intercoolers or tubes running all over the place either. It's the factory air/water intercooler on the Lightnings.

Dear Reptar,

I sorry you read my post like that, I was by no means saying anything bad about your builds in fact they look great. they look like the standard complete kits from Whipple and if you did any mods, Graet Job!

Now I clearly state air to air for a reason since Whipple has been using air to water for 23 years now.

Have you seen what guys are doing lately with the air to air tubes on centrifagul SC and turbo setups. Painting them with flame jobs covering them with brairded stainless steel loom. A Friend of mine said he had seen one with clear plexiglass and you can see vortexes, now that would be interesting.
Anyway I just don't like that look, that was one of the reasons why I waited a year and a half for Whipple to complete the Raptor kits.

No offense taken to me, not my trucks and it's whipples blowers lol. (heck I'm a KB guy myself). But those whipple setups are air to water as well. You don't need to do the jackshaft and front inlet for air to water. I don't really like the look of centri's either, not what I'm asking for. I just wish Whipple went with a rear entry design for the 6.2, as the whole s/c and intake layout just looks better to me visually. The jack shaft and front inlet looks like a backwards s/c to me lol.

I think Whipple didn't have a choice, Ford has the motor sitting way back tucked under the firewall a bit and left a whole lot room in front of the radiator.
I don't believe you could put a 4 Liter Whipple on a Raptor 6.2 without cutting the firewall out. If your looking for 1000 hp+ :)

There's more room on the 6.2 and the firewall than the 5.4 on the Lightnings.

And this isn't a 4 liter blower, it's a 2.9.

Anybody actually have one of these installed? Would love to hear how it changes your impressions of the truck.

What change in fuel mileage did you see?

Any transmission issues?

How many miles you have on the SC?

Do you accelerate faster more often now?
