Maybe the pinging could be turbo wastegate springs rattling?

Update on 2nd tune

The real test for me on the stage 1 kit and updated tune will start on 1/22 . I’ll be driving 600 miles a week for the next 4 months minimum. Gassing it every chance I get!! . I’ll let you know how it goes

You may have been asked this on several occasions..

Since you are working with Ford and have all compliances met, will this be Ford's tune also?

My only hesitation is the question of warranty, in which one you get(when not vapor) and the other not.

Originally it was, but that was January of 2017, they are so far behind, we had to leave them back and push forward. If they release something, and that's a big if, it will be much closer to our first release but at lower power, but we have refined quite a bit form that point.

Ford's will NOT be warrantied. In fact, there will be no tune that will be "warrantied" unless it has a supplemental warranty.

I would kill for a tune from Ford that wouldn't instantly get any powertrain failure warranty claim rejected.

The reality is they could probably justify that the increase in HP/TQ is the root cause of any tranny, differential, motor failure. That's an expensive gamble.

I bought one, and while I can afford to replace a motor or trans if it was to blow up, I don't want to have to. I want that extra $2500 safety net to cover it if it happens. If that means I don't tune the truck, I guess that's what happens.

That’s why I went with Whipple and their kit. After all the tune comes up after market with a Ford part # so I’m told. Any way I pulled the trigger. Time will tell.
