If you wait till the last month of factory warranty and buy extended warranty for an additional 2/3/4/5 years, you will find that you will pay the same for per year of additional coverage as you did now but get more years of coverage for the same amount spent.

Not always true. Buying thru Flood ford, the price goes up at least $100 after owning for 12 months, and you are assuming that they wont increase the base cost of extended warranties also. Which, given the demand of these, wont be surprised if they do go up anyway.

Flood Ford's pricing may or may not be representative of all the sellers. I'm pretty sure you can shop around Nationwide and find better pricing for a Ford extended warranty than what your local dealer may offer

Besides it's about net present value of money. I'd rather pay for something 3 years from now than now. If I even have the truck at that point.

What are ya'lls thoughts on wheel and tire warranty?
I've only had one in my last 15 cars. CNA national. I hit a curb and made a claim. Had to jump through hoops and escalate to manager to get claim approved. Even then they wouldn't cover refinishing my wheel because it's chrome. Bottom line: read the exclusions and fine print very carefully.

Exactly right. Just let the power train warranty stay in place, and see how many issues you have. If you unload prior to 5/60k, you are ok. If you like the truck and keep, make DAMN sure you get an aftermarket warranty that covers full power train for the remainder of what you believe you will own it for.

per year coverage makes sense, never thought of it that way, however everything is covered for only 3/36, piece of mind is worth something. Trucks cost so much now u cant afford to think i can save 1500 only to pay 3k at 37 months when something brakes!

I am in agreement with you!

Flood Ford is definitely not representative.....

They are less expensive than 99% of other dealers.

It took nearly four months to get my 2018 after ordering it from my small town dealer in late July. When I went in to do all the paperwork and take delivery, I showed them the Flood Ford ESP quote and they actually said that it was below their cost and I should buy it!

Adding $1,200 to a $70,000 truck that is FULL of expensive features seems like a no-brainer to me. BMW asks for $4K plus on a vehicle that isn't that much more sophisticated and doesn't get abused like a Raptor would.

I realize that no one sells insurance where their not going to end up making money but they can absorb a loss more comfortably than I can. At the cost of dealer repairs today it'll only take one, maybe two visits during the last 3 years of the warranty to pay for it outright. Plus you get the benefit of never having to second guess whether that ticking noise you think you hear is going to set you back $10K.

And for those that'll only keep it 4 or 5 years having a comprehensive warranty on an big dollar vehicle will probably pay for the $1,200 in increased resale alone.
