As Bird has been texting me photos of this process, I've been harping on him to go full on Knight-Rider-Tuxed-Out-Mode.... Bumpers, skid plate, hood vents, door handles, tailgate handle, pillars, the works... Back me up here fellas (don't let him fool you, he got a ridiculous hook-up on the painting costs). With as much as Bird likes to shine that paint, don't you guys agree he should keep going with the Tux additions?

Looks good Bird. two questions totally off topic

1. What is the car with the red wheel? Got a pic of it?

2. What RC is in your sig and where do I get it? :peace:

The car is a turbo 3rd Gen RX-7 with the "Fast and Furious" wide body kit and lambo doors. I have no idea what the RC car is, I got it from google.

:D ok so I got the flares and vents removed, painted and reinstalled with new hardware for about $100....you're still a bad influence.

New hardware? Does that mean some of the weak ass clips didn't hold up?

Some of mine didn't hold up... Good luck finding them. I went through the trouble of removing the flare(s) again and even the FORD DEALER couldn't get them.

Same story here. I have Toyota clips for my two front clips on the front pair.

All of the yellow, grey and blue clips(rear) held up..not one broke. he replaced all the screws, black christmas tree clips and 3M tape.

it might be helpful to note, the blue rear clips pop right out without any fanfare and stay on the fender flares.

the fronts he started at the rear of the fender, popped out the first inner clip(yellow) and then used a tool to slide the clips out of the fender flare rather than trying to pull them out of the body for the rest. then he used a pick tool to get them off the body, and slid them back on the flares before installation.

the reason the grey ones break is because they are double sided and DO NOT come out of the body easily. If you try to pull them out, they will break. Sliding the flare off the clips is the way to go.

i'm sure he knew damn well he had to be super careful considering i was standing over his shoulder, nervously ripping down a Marlboro Light with a large coffee in my hand watching every stroke of his clip tool when it went anywhere near my truck.

These are the *******. They are supposedly a "new" style of clip that will not pull out of the fender which is a good thing unless that's you're aim. The rectangular part actually slides in behind the clip hold on the flares. Add to that the 3M tape doesn't really allow you to get in behind it unless you cut it away first which isn't easy to do with the room you'll have.
