What would you do? Low MPG on new to me Gen 2.

I changed my plugs today. Motorcraft SP594. $8.99 x 6. Didn't know about replacing the boots, so I'll replace those soon.

How hard was it and what gap for plugs?

^^ @phill0027 0027, it took about an hour working slow. - tall step stool and towels to lay over the painted surfaces was the hard part.

10mm for Foam cover nuts, 8mm for coil pack nut. unclip the coil pack connector (12lb/ft torque for the new plugs). You will need a socket extension - 8" should do.

Boot grease for boots. (I used a light coating of anti-seize a few threads up from bottom). I blew out each spark plug wells with compressed air BEFORE I loosened the plug. ** I also use a length of fuel line that just fits over the plug to start the new plug threads. That way it won't cross thread - the fuel line would just slip on the ceramic jacket of the plug.

My wholesale cost on sparkplugs is $9.98
Coil boot kit about $40
So just my cost on parts is $100, I can NOT run a business on $40 "profit" on parts

Labor is 1.5hrs. At $140 x 1.5 = $210.

So $ 210 + 100 = $310 doesn't really cover my costs

Parts + 40% puts about 5% in my bank account.

So my ecoboost tune up is about $350ish.

Meaning if @Jeepguy paid $140 parts and labor then the guy doing the labor got fuxked.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like you have strong mechanical background ..... these newer cars scare me.
