The springs by themselves are $1300-$1500 I think or you can get them in a package deal with the frame support, called the Stage 3 and it's $2500

You may already know this, but the SCrew (4door) is rated to tow 8,000lbs whereas the SCab (2door) is rated to tow 6,000lbs, so if you're gonna tow a lot of farm equipment you definitely want a SCrew.

As Maxx said, the National HD springs sold through RPG would be a great place to start, the softer offroad suspension is a drawback when towing, but those springs will help compensate for that.... if you need more beef than that you could also add some airbags sold through SDHQ.

I'm not sure why you were told the factory tow package is a "bad idea".... it works exactly as advertised. Many people who use this truck exclusively for offroading and daily driving will forego or delete their tow package, but MANY MANY MANY people on here tow stuff with their Raptors regularly without problem. The Raptor is no F-350 in the towing department, but it will get the job done.

no one told me it was bad i was just wondering if i could upgrade the towing capacity as you two said by adding the airbags and springs, i know the raptor can go through most anything but i just dont like to call the boss and tell him im bogged down with a 5-6 ton trailer in the mud or else where, cause i had that problem with the z71 i had, so better to be safe than sorry.

In my very humble opinion, if you're truly towing 10-12k lbs you need to be looking at the F-250 or Chevy/Dodge 2500 at a minimum. Safety concerns (which are numerous) aside, the engine, brakes, transmission, and suspension of the spared F-150 will be grateful.

yeah if towing and hauling is a major thing, i wouldnt look at a Raptor then.... you could upgrade some things for a couple grand that will up your capabilities, but your still probably below what you would need. and this comming from a guy who still gets a semi just looking at my truck...... daily driver and off roader, absolutly! daily driver and a street queen, still fine! dialy driver and heavy towing, ehhh your better off with something else... IMHO

Agreed if your gonna tow that much and still want a Raptor, I would find a nice 2010 that could be had for quite a bit cheaper than new and a used diesel for a tow rig.

Wow you've got some nice parents to get you a Raptor as a grad gift.

You should get a regular F-150 or something else cheap and ask them to put the rest of the money in a savings account for you to use for better purposes like helping pay for things in college.

The Raptor is not Set up or Designed to tow a 5-6 ton trailer Period.

You need a SuperDuty, with the 6.7L diesel.
