I don't follow the logic of claiming that "SVT" is good, and "Ford Performance" is bad. It's the same branch of Ford. Same staff of engineers and decision makers, right? They didn't fire everyone when they changed the name, did they?

Is the thought that SVT = V8 and Ford Performance = TTV6? Is the belief that if Ford made a high performance V8, like potentially a Raptor R, they would brand it a SVT? Or is some sort of belief that Ford lost their way when they changed the name, so anything SVT is good and Ford Performance is bad, no matter what.

I get why people like V8s over V6, I just don't get the whole SVT/Ford Performance issue, unless you just like the look of the logo better or something.

SVT is easier to say…………

Maybe it is the association with vehicles branded with the name. As in if you have a SVT vehicle you get some of that heritage of other older SVT vehicles and Ford Performance vehicles are with other FP vehicles?

SVT is much faster to type at least lol.

Yes. SVT is on the side of the V8's. Makes my **** bigger. No "Ford Performance" on the side of the V6's.

It’s because certain individuals live in an alternate reality where they believe that their truck “limited” or more “special” than the newer trucks based solely on nomenclature. Having personally participated in technician recognition events with the opportunity to meet with engineering and company leadership, I can tell you first hand that the theories concocted by these Sasquatches are not only wrong, but they’re comically ridiculous.

SVT was North America, Ford Performance is global. They are the same division with the same engineers and goals.

There is no differentiation between the branding related to engine size or type. Ford Performance developed the 5.2L flat plane crank used in the GT350, the 2.3 EcoBoost used in Focus RS, the 5.2 S/C in the GT500, the 3.5 HO EcoBoost used and Ford GT and the Raptor derivative.

Claiming one engine configuration is superior to another based solely on cylinder count is about as ignorant as one can get.

Ignorant. Just ignorant.

Please explain. If this is just sarcasm (or your other post was sarcasm as interpreted it)...ok. Wasn't clear.

And yes, it's offtopic, but since it's gone down this road, just trying to understand why the SVT label matters...not V8 vs V6...just SVT vs FP.
