Raptor has been driven a few days ago, no problem. Was going to town and "mileage to empty 153 miles to empty". By the time I got to town it said 97.
... I went 9 miles! I was planning a 30 mile trip so I put gas in and headed out. Miles were dropping @ 3 miles per actual mile. I turned around and put my foot to the floor. Ran it up to 80 and it seemed to slow use to around 2 per 1. Parked it. Took another vehicle.

When I got back, I head home, put it to the floor 3 times. Fuel use seemed normal and the mpg readout said 15 mpg.

What the he'll just happened??? I noticed the fuel Guage actually made some gas when I was parked flat. There's no flat, except in the garage.

Hand calculate the mileage, and keep track of it. That's the only way to find issues that might only be initally noticelabe via excess fuel consumption.

The truck's MPG and DTE estimate is just fluff and not accurate enough to rely on.

I think a bad sensor, but not sure which one. No dash lights indicating anything wrong . Engine was running fine, no indication of excessive fuel. Popped the hood at the gas station to check smell or leaks. I can't see how the fuel Guage was dropping along with the gallons per mile. I also don't know how it fixed itself.....

Some m e t h junkie probably tried drilling a hole in the bottom of the gas tank and got scared off just as they were finishing up; now there's a spot where the fuel is slowly weeping out...LOL

It's nuts!! I don't drive the truck more than once a week if that. Filled the tank, took it out and instead of 3 miles per mile, it was 1 mile per 1.5 miles, the opposite. I guess it was making up for It's previous errors. I have noted that the continuous mileage monitor has always been correct, fuel guage has been a little odd.

I drove it 40 miles and registered about 30. But, it must have visited a doctor while it was parked. Evening, when I drove home, it was right on??

I'm trying to figure out if it's a sensor, something tied to the fuel guage, or if it's been parked next to Prius and it's pissed.
