If you had the chance to sit with a company that can build your perfect exhaust, what are the keys you need to have?

Here are the keys I can think of.

1. Sound (loud, but not annoying)
2. Performance
3. Ability to bolt to after market headers
4. Looks
5. Ability to handle cut outs
6. Installation

Personally I would prefer two pipes coming from each side of the block, going into an X pipe, to two mufflers. I personally like the exhaust exiting from the side rear.

Please discuss

I'd like a nice deep idle and a smooth, consistent sound through the RPM range. The deeper the better, but with no drone at speeds consistent with residential through highway driving.

The best sounding exhaust I've personally ever had was the Borla Stingers on my 4v 4.6 Mustang. The same system on the 2v sounded good, but it just wasn't the same.

I've previously had the Corsa catback on my 2011 Raptor and it was a glorious system. Nice and somewhat deep at startup and idle (and not too loud) but at highway speeds, I'd say it was even more quiet than stock.

I'd absolutely go for that system again if it was a little less expensive.

Something nice and deep, and not very smooth. More rumble than smooth, similar to the lope of a nice cam. Personally I think that's the magnapack. And it cost under $100

Thanks Swoop and Maxx. I am looking at a whole Cat-bat system, and if the market is there may be pursuing a header option too. I think the company I am working with has used / installed both systems before and can use that information as a reference.

Maxx, I am with you. Nice deep, almost like the motor has a bigger cam.

Whatever Corsa does, that's what I want. Just wish it wasn't so expensive.

They have a nice deep sound at idle/start-up and a pretty aggressive sound at WOT. But they really shine at cruising speeds where there is literally zero drone.

I did some Youtube searching and LOVE the Corsa now! Great sound and no drone! Plus, I looked online and found it as cheap as $840 shipped. Still on the high side, but to have the exact deep, low sound I want with no drone on the highway, I'll pay it!
