A solution in search of a problem? Never heard of this particular issue before, has it really occurred with anyone?
yes. the bed will expand and spread during offroad use. you will see a difference in gap from the top of the bed to the bottom of the bed.IMG_20210409_001717.jpg you can see where my bed actually broke and had to be welded back together. bed stabilizers will keep this from happeningIMG_20210409_001734.jpg

Thanks. I was looking at KHC "Tailgater Edition" but find it hard to spend $199 on something I could fab myself. It's that damn bottle opener!

Known issue for the F150s. Not just Raptor specific. However, as long as you take it easy on the mall speed bumps, you might be good without. :love51:

Like many, finally had Rigids installed. I was not planning to, but my OEM specs them on certain trucks from the parent.

Vendor was at corporate to discuss warranty coverages/procedures for OEM installs vs. aftermarket and made an offer I couldn’t refuse—a sign of a customer-centric corporate vendor.

I’m debating whether to get the clear polycarbonate covers—for added protection from highway damage, although I know the stock lens is solid. Anyone do this? Thank you in advance for any thoughts.

After four days of methodically taking our time installing the Alcon front BBK, rear Alcon Rotors/Pads and SS Brake lines/.7 MM spacers and ceramic coating on the calipers and another coat on the wheels, finally finished yesterday.

Even though I bought the tie rods to have on hand in case I needed them, my Raptor didn’t require them.

The front SS brake lines were very challenging, stripped one line and had to have it remade, completed the brake flush four times with the bleeder pump and then again manually with the old fashion two person way and again with turning the e-brake on and off.

Then did 20 60-5 mph hard stops without coming to a complete stop and then drove on the hwy for 20 minutes to allow the brakes to cool. When I got home, I didn’t apply the ebrake, just to error on the side of caution.

What a significant improvement, felt as if I was going to be thrown through the front windshield.

A huge thank you to Nick with Apollo Optics for helping me decide between Alcon and R1 Concepts and giving me all the Pros and Cons, which included Nick going above and beyond customer service by sending me, free of charge 1.5” wheel spacers for R1 Concepts wheel fitment and telling me I can return the tie rods if I didn’t need them.

highly recommend these Alcons.

Why would one need to "stabilize a bed?"
Legit question.

What makes the bed unstable?
It’s unstable when off-roading. The bed shakes around a lot and the bed sides are just supported by the sides and the tailgate pins. Over time the bed sides will spread away from the tailgate. I pretty much ruined my bed on my GEN1. I had the adjustable ones that just supported the corners which you commonly see. I would not recommend them as the bed will still spread and cause the center to lift up. On my GEN2, I went with the type that goes all the way across for better support and put it on when brand new BEFORE it started spreading.

If yours in a pavement princess or mall crawler then don’t worry about it, bed sides will be just fine.
