What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Decided to start doing the oil changes myself because it started getting to be a pain to get into the dealer without spending all day. My 12qts of Amsoil and Oil Filters showed up today along with my Fumoto oil plug valve. Going to do it tomorrow let the fun begin.

Godspeed @10SpdsOfFury. There’s many ways to skin that cat. So far I’ve done it with and without removing the rear skid plate. Taking it off is all of 6 bolts, but it can be a pain to get back on by yourself. The filter is in a rather cumbersome location, and remember, it is going to drain just rear of the front skid plate so prepare for a few ounces to come out of there as well

I saw something in a video about there being a try under the oil filter to direct the oil? Is that true?

Yes there is some molded plastic to guide the oil drip near the filter. Front skid plate access comes off with Torx T40 btw

Yes there is a plastic tray that funnels the oil to the front or to the rear of the frame. I’ve found that it does drain out the rear slot if the truck is relatively level Even more so if the front is raised.

Finally got around to installing the second-hand RPG front spacers I scored in the marketplace here a few months ago.



And yes, I know I need longer/taller jack stands...what I really need is to get the new garage built so I can put a lift in!

I lowered the truck onto them once the shocks were out though. No air tools here at the new house...yet...so a cheater bar was needed for that bottom shock bolt!



Also no spring compressors, so I took them into a local shop that swapped the spacers in for a few bucks and a couple 6 packs of beer...these simply replace the stock half-circle rings under the bottom spring perch.



And a couple hours later...success!



Will get a pic of the truck now leveled mañana ... and no more (albeit slight) tire rub when I have the wheel turned all the way either!

1. I got my second windshield installed.
   
2. Performed the moon/pano roof maintenance which has completely eliminated the annoying squeaking I would get when the moon roof would warm up in the direct sun light.
   
3. Installed a new set of BFG KO2's after 26k miles.
   
4. Installed the Seven Sparta rear seat release.
   
5. Next week, I will be replacing my right front shock putting an end to my Drive Control Malfunction issue that I've been dealing with for a couple of months now.

I would like to say thanks for all the tips. It went a lot easier then expected, I used a piece of cardboard to direct the oil and only got a little bit out of the skid plate. I also got my Fumoto valve on with no issues and ready for mess free oil change next time. I did notice the 6qts left me a hair shy of Full on the dipstick but that may be because the Amsoil filter seems a tad bigger then the Ford filter.

Removed the black vinyl from my roof. Had holes and looked janky. This also removed the OEM black strips down the side in the roof channel.
