Should of gotten one of these long ago. Couldn’t make up my mind but eventually ordered it. Been waiting for it to come in and now finally able to cleanup after that Arkansas run a couple weeks ago.

Is Amsoil supposed to be the best synthetic oil out there? I keep hearing about it but have always gone with Mobil1 due to it being available everywhere. Should I switch?

I'm an M-1 guy myself. First 4 UOA's came out well below unit averages for wear metals. Skipped the last oil change, will do one on the next. On my Tacoma, I used it from about 50k up. Sold it with 185K and that v-6 still purred like new. Not sure Amsoil provides that much more for the extra expense. At this point, I 'think' most full synthetics are so far and above conventionals that any incremental advantage of one product over any other would only be seen under the most extreme of conditions.

Keep records and receipts of everything if you are still under warranty or ESP. My dealership discovered a white cream in my coolant (sons mustang)at (Not So)quick-lube. Oil mixing w/coolant Cracked block!! He had 80k miles on it. 100k ESP It took ESP 2weeks to approve the 8k repair( if I recall correctly) they wanted record’s of every oil change, every maintenance. Asked about any mods, headers, chipped etc. Thankfully every maintenance (5k) had been done at my dealership since day 1!! And it was stock except for 3chamber Flowmaster. Saved My Azzzz!! It’s a pain to wait at the dealership but worth it to me. My dealership now has pick-up and drop off :0

I know it’s a gamble that a lot of us car guys take with our warranty, but honestly, taking the truck to the dealer (for a simple oil change) is such a unpleasant experience that it’s almost worth the gamble.

agreed, I ask for synthetic who knows what’s going in, ive heard stories of wrong weights of oil getting poured in. I like doing my own changes because I make sure it’s the right stuff, and gives me a chance to inspect everything. My last oil change I discovered a leaking piñon seal and an oil leak (maybe timing cover or oil pan, dunno).

FordPass app lets you enter the maintenance and attach a receipt with the interval. I buy my oil and filter from the dealer and make sure my last 8 vin are on the receipt.

Day 2 of camp not quite as nice as day 1. By the way sleeping two in the cab of a scab is not conducive to a good night's sleep.. wind got up just a bit.. sustained winds of 30knts and periods where it was gusting up to 50knts.
