I just did mine this weekend. It was extremely clean @32,*** miles. The old gasket came off in one peace and there was very little on the diff itself.

Inside there was very little sludge. I just sprayed down the outer rim, did not spray inside or on the gears themselves.

My worst issue was a torque wrench malfunction. I snapped a bolt off because i accidentally moved the wrench our to 90 pounds. Thankfully, i had an extra and the stud was able to be backed out.

Want to thank everyone here that gave great advise regarding changing out the stock rear diff cover to the Ford performance one. Did mine this morning and sprayed amsoil HDMP on rear akle and frame rails while spare was out. Drying as we speak.

Installed a carbon fiber shifter thanks btw to RRRaptorfun for the shout out on my thread & a seamless transaction (check on its way lol!) - looks nice, my dirty hand/palm sweat wearing out shifter leather no longer an issue on my 801a truck.
