I can't see any downsides, was worried about starvation, but from my data so far it's not happening.[/QUOTE]

Not wanting to benefit from others research and seem lazy, but would it be possible for you post some part #'s? Website is a little vague. I can call Monday but thought maybe it would help others, too, if they were interested......

Some asked for more info.

The Airraid setup I have is around $750, part of the high expense is that I have the cool snorkel, and had it custom anodized, without those your more around 500 or so. I got everything from Corey at RPG. Note that anodizing takes awhile, so patience is definitely a virtue.

I love that the snorkel gets rid of all the plastic crap covering the engine, I can actually change my own spark plugs now (!).

I also went Deaver +5's as I carry 400 lbs in the bed and with jumping I have flattened my old leafs. truck is sitting more level now and I should have that extra room on those big jumps.

finally I had the Baja Designs light installed on the hood. I had been holding off on getting these as I wasn't sure how I felt about hood lights, but now that they are on, I do like them, and they are brighter than the sun.

my information is anecdotal to some degree. My Kenwood stereo system with Maestro gives me full gauge readings from my OBD sensor so I can see the MAF sensor data realtime. I also have a Solo DL so I can get accurate performance measurements.

So far (early data), I'm not losing any flow that I can see, and performance is same as before (stock & Airraid CAI - airraid provided some better airflow, UMP seems to fall between stock and Airraid).

Acceleration hasn't changed one bit, and the engine doesn't feel likes its starving.

Where the real test comes is the Raptor runs
1. it cannot fall off, so right away it beats every other CAI (with exception of a couple)
2. It's sealed - no threat of over the hood water intake
3. Much bigger air filter element, so it won't get clogged as easy as stock.

I can't see any downsides, was worried about starvation, but from my data so far it's not happening.

Thanks for the info - so, does it just suck the air from behind the headlight (a picture I've seen of another install seems to just go to the back of the headlight)? One of your pictures shows a tube clamped onto the intake of the UMP - just wondering where it goes and why there'd be no chance of water ingress in that spot if water was over the hood.

Based on your experience, I think I'll be calling RPG soon.

It does suck in behind the headlight and I expect the headlight will deflect most water, but for a wet run I would add a pre filter on the intake and since it is covered it won't have the filter sitting here n a puddle
