For the universal mount, our seat bolts are too close together. So I had to use some of the mounting holes to secure the two plates. So I just made new ones, it is more anchored now than it was before.
I didn't have that issue, mine is mounted under the seat posts just fine.

I built and installed some front flaps to protect my bedsides with the running boards removed.
They are 1/4 rubber and are super flexible and light. They should do a great job protecting the truck, and they look pretty racey I feel.

Those flaps are a tad too long for my taste but if that is the look you like, then all that matters. I think mine are about of foot off the ground and protects very well.
