Got my starter done yesterday, old one was getting slow even with a new battery, got a Powermaster 9632 (BTW Amazon lies it IS the right one for a Gen1 6.2L). That top bolt was just as bad as I thought it would be. Finally got it out with a 1/4" drive ratchet, 2-1/2" or so 1/4" extension, 1/4" up to 3/8" drive adapter since I didn't have a 1/4" drive socket, and for some reason a 1/2" socket fit better/tighter than a 13mm socket even though they are metric bolts. Further proof engineers detest mechanics.

Did some battery maintenance with winter coming on, added distilled water to each cell 1-1.5 cups total and cleaned the terminals. Been experiencing weak battery simtoms so it might be time to replace. I caught a black friday deal on a 6000A jump start kit as a backup plan.
