glad you could repurpose a motorcycle wheel stand into a tire mount
am = amplitude modulation. = based on height. (tower height and antenna heaight)On my continued crusade against corrosion I found that my craven speed stubby antenna is completely flaking apart. So normally I'd just repaint it but it's pretty far gone. That said I'd just do a one for one replacement but now I'm back home for a bit I've been listening to local radio I realize the stubby kind of sucks, especially for AM.... So my question is, is there any stubby antenna like that but maybe, double the size so I can listen to the radio more than 3 miles from the broadcast antenna?
Also Michigan is ******* wild... I remember sitting in a blind for hours not seeing shit.. I pull into a hardware store parking lot and see this...

fm = frequency modulation = based on range (also depends on some height)
so...... am radio needs antenna height which also includes a ground plane in the equasion. the higher your antenna, the greater the ground plane, the better the am reception
You wrapped up like 8 weeks of navy radioman A school up in like 3 sentences. Bravo sir!am = amplitude modulation. = based on height. (tower height and antenna heaight)

Oh man I broke out my Tamiya monster truck which still has a radio system from 1996, a mechanical speed control and a 27 turn brushed motor. That thing moves like those rocks in the desert from the wind and its steering is merely a suggestion of where to go.Explains why I see some old school rc car’s driving around lol. I’ve always wondered why they needed such a big antenna.
you should be able to ut your oem antenna in 3inch increments to retain the wavelength ratioYou wrapped up like 8 weeks of navy radioman A school up in like 3 sentences. Bravo sir!
Yep I know I was just shocked at how bad it was. The stubby is only like 4 inches so maybe double the size should be well enough. I don't like the factory antenna size at all.
