Not so. I have them and there is no problem. It is brighter license plate lights that can cause issues. This has been documented on the this forum.

Ok - How many lumens and what is the spread pattern of the lights.
I am running Baja Design S2 Sports Amber flush mount wide angle and they work ok. I think the work lense would have been better. The wide angle doesn't quite wash out the camera. I change them from a beam / wide angle combo. The Amber beam / wide angle washed out the camera at night to make it almost un-useable. The above light combo isn't by any means very bright for off road night marker lights or night activities.
SO - Just trying to give some basic advise - Keep the lumens, mounting position and pattern within reason.
But again - This is the internet and free advise is worth what you pay for it.

Thank you all for the responses. I understood the LED lights (if used) in the license plate sockets would wash out the rear camera. I have the Rigids and will mount outboard on my bumper but will see if it washes it out. Thanks for the tips, will report back

Any amperage will work with those lights, but connecting to backups is another option if you don’t want to flip the switch every time. Up to you. Either way I’d save your 30 amps for future enhancements if you haven’t tied anything to them.

Also keep in mind, if you haven't already cut the holes in your bumper for those square lights, since the bumper is curved getting them to fit flush tight will be extra work. That is why I went with the rectangle style.

The Rigids I installed are true backup lights. They are diffused 60 degree with raw lumens of 3168 each. If someone is using lights that are not a backup light, like a driving light or similar, I'm well aware it could pose issues with the backup camera. I have "driving" and "hyperspots" on the front and no way would I put them out the back.
