Broke one of my Granatelli wires last night, so went back to OEM today. Frustrating to happen, but it is what it is.

Yesterday afternoon I had an encounter with a Gen2 (2020?) on hwy 520 running from Seattle through Redmond, WA... I was headed home doing about 80 or so and I saw his Raptor lights catching up to me in the rear view.

He pulled past me in the carpool lane and I decided to push him some. We ended up running between 90-100 mph for about 10 miles, but it was really dicey driving with a good rain and a lot of water on the road. At one point I was pretty well blinded by the spray and I let off.

I could clearly hear his exhaust and that staccato noise that the turbos make, and he turned and looked when I laid into the go pedal and my dump exhaust roared. It was fun!

It seemed to me that the Gen2 has quicker acceleration in the lower RPM’s...he could get ahead some, but when I got my revs up I was able to stay with him.

I think the bottom line for us Gen1 guys is that we have some work to do to keep up with the Gen2’s. Running against one being driven by someone equally as aggressive as myself was a bit of a shock. I’m thinking I need another hundred HP.... 6.6 stroker maybe?

I can verify your hypothesis, I have a gen 1 with JDM tune and the speed limiter turned off, it’s pretty dam fast I am in SoCal right now drove down Friday night for the birth of my first grand baby in the wings so the wife grandma to be was not my throttle governor. I could go as fast as I felt comfortable. At about 90 MPH I had lots of petal left. My son has Gen 2 which I drove to Chico Ca from my home in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving 2018 so up thru the heart of NV thru Reno mostly nothing but two lane highway where when you make the decision to pass and getting up to passing speed is crucial the gen 2 is hands down far and away superior with the turbos. The 10 speed tryanny seems to shift seamlessly as well. I love my gen 1 but if I could afford a gen 2 I would probably have one.
