Made an appointment at the dealer to let them attack this spark plug. 6 point socket didn’t fit. Extractor socket wouldn’t bite. Better to let them do it at this point. Hopefully they can get it without removing the head.

They'll likely be able to get it out with one of the tools that comes with the 5.4L spark plug extractor kit, which they no doubt have plenty of experience with at this point. Fingers crossed.

But, i cheated. I did it while I was doing a fender swap to a set of Botecs. I will say, i think it would be well worth it to take off the fender liners before changing the plugs. Really easy to pull the liners. Pull off the flares, then a few small bolts, remove the christmas tree plugs and detach the couple of harness keepers that are on it. then they come right out.

I am going to do a quick write up in a bit about it. but to some it up, the back 3 lower plugs are a straight shot. super easy. the two plugs behind the shock tower aren't bad. I used a short extension on the plug socket, then a universal, then a couple of long extensions to attach to the ratchet. Easy out, easy in.

the other "hard" ones are the back ones on the top, but again, pretty easy. a medium extension on the socket, put it on the plug, then attach the universal to a long extension and done.

again, i'll do a write up with pics and some other tricks that make it pretty easy.

I would do it again now that I know there won’t be a ****** up plug in there.

Is there a reason you put that plastic wrap back on the wires?

Honestly, no. But I had noticed that they were only on the passengers side, so initially I thought something might be different on that side that could wear on the wires, so I put them on. doesn't look any different from the other side, so not sure why ford put them on

I asked Chris at Freedom Motorsports about it, he had never seen it on any Raptor he had worked on. Mine had them also. I left them off, as you said, the passenger side doesn’t look any different than the drivers side.

My 14’ from factory did not have those. I imagine they are for heat. Granatelli has upgraded sleeves for higher heat concerns
