bulbs don't get you too far. Swap the OEM projector with something better and then bump up to 50w ballasts.

I am running EvoX 2.0 projectors with stock ballasts and they are a nice upgrade from stock but I miss the brightness of the 50w ballasts.

Also, I would recommend looking into using the Morimoto D2S 4.0 projectors. Way better light output distribution than the EvoX 2.0's. The EvoX concentrate the light output into a strong hotspot front and center at the expense of a strong wide pattern, and I would prefer the latter. And now they have brackets that allow the D2S 4.0 to bolt in place of the stock projector just like the EvoX do.

Got some new rubbers. Also got a sweet gouge in my wheel from the tire machine. Didn't notice it until I got home and was putting the tires on the truck because the ass bags at the tire shop covered it up with a black sharpie marker!:flipthebird:

50w ballasts create a ton more heat than a 35w. So while its brighter, you run the risk of damaging the light housing.

So it comes down to, what is more light worth to you?

Did the fuse 27 relocation this afternoon. It took me a little longer than it should have due to me having to build up the balls to clip the wire to fuse 27 for about 15 minutes.... and the fact that I can't solder worth a damn. But all in all, it was pretty straightforward.

Also flushed the brakes with the power bleeder last week, installed the VSS perimeter alarm and remote access module the week before that, and put in new bed lights with wiring run through the frame rail to the battery.

A 40+% improvement in lumens seems pretty solid to me?

I'm super apprehensive about swapping anything else into the stock housing. I don't want a bad pattern blinding other drivers or giving cops an excuse to pull me over.

A set of Rigid DSS on the A-pillars rigged to an OEM fog switch would provide more light than 90+% of people would ever need (when you need them). Costs a lot less than all this projector swap stuff. Probably more reliable, too.

I ended up tearing apart the center console because I noticed the shifter indicator lights had gone out, which is actually pretty easy. Takes about 15 minutes once you know what you're doing.

The lights are 194 bulbs, I replaced them with old style bulbs but will be getting LEDs to replace them next weekend.

I washed the bitch. Couldn't stand the whining any more. Yeah, yeah, she was covered in winter road goop - dirt, salt, sand - the usual. I didn't think much of it, having seen some pretty cool bikini photos of sandy women. You know the ones. So I thought the whining bitch just looked sexy and well used. No. She whined. She cried. She complained, and *******, and was driving me bazonkers. (It's a word.) So I pulled her out in the driveway, hosed her down in 45 degree weather, and washed her sorry ass. Blessed silence. Geeeeeze!

Flowmaster FlowFX installed

I will be interested in learning how it sounds. I installed a Flowmaster in a Datsun D21 Hardbody 4x4 many years ago, and the noise was punishing. Had to install a big resonator to keep from getting arrested.
