Took it to the dealership today for an oil change and have them check the drivetrain and 4x4 to get everything checked over for my baja trip. Report comes back that both my tie rods are loose and recommend to replace soon.

I am like, WTF. I have the SDHQ HD Double shear tie rods that are less than a year and I am like no way!

So I go and pickup my truck and ask to talk to the tech and show me the issue. He is at lunch so I wait 30 minutes. He tells me that when he lifted the front and moved the wheel, the inner tie rod is loose and moving up and down. I asked him if he removed the boot to see what was loose. He said no. Shaking my head, I ask him to get the truck up and lets take a look at it together. He does and moves the wheel, sure enough its moving. I get him to remove the boot (just one hose clamp) and he moves the wheel again. Its moving at the rack. I have him move the wheel and show him where to look. He gets a senior tech to give a second opinion. Its obvious I tell them as its moving up and down and side ways in the rack and on both sides! They agree, let's replace the rack.

Talk to my service advisor after the news and he is ordering a replacement rack. Said he will try to get it fully covered under warranty, worst case scenario it will go under my ESP premium warranty.

Got some AMSOIL ATF ordered for the job.

Also had them grease the yoke since I was experiencing the "clank".

Glad it was caught and that I halfway know something to question what was the issue. I was never mechanical before having a Raptor and always trusted what I was told. This raptor has been a blessing in improving my knowledge, the forum with so much help over the years and raptor meets when you get to talk with knowledgeable people. I have never been under a truck more in my life and I actually really enjoy it.

Oh boy, thank god for happy ending. Good job, Rick

Not keeping them machined, they will be powder coated bronze.
Something like this

Saw a post regarding this color on the rims, it looks great on a black truck

SVC shipped the light tower, the count down has begun. Should be here by 12/21/16.
ADD called my front bumper will be shipped 12/29/16 so that I get it when get back 01/03/17 from vocation.

Both companies were great to do business with. Great customer services. Pics to follow.

Now all I have to do is tell my wife I found both pieces on the side of the road.

Replaced the OEM battery again! 3rd Motorcraft battery in two and a half years. Not impressed.

Why would you go with the Motorcraft carp after the second one died? Warranty?

I got 4 years out of mine and changed out to the Odyssey 65-PC1750T. Its way better and puts out 950CCA but tests out over 1100CCA. Great battery.

Yes warranty. I figured I'd get one more out of Ford before warrant is up.

Paid off Night Raptor! Now I can afford my health insurance premium.

Chris Got me a replacement rear rotor covered under warranty on a Friday. A replacement was on my door Tuesday the following week. Thanks again Chris!

I hope they cover it for you with the aftermarket tie rods. Most have not been lucky.

Got my SVC "The Tune" loaded this morning, not sure if previous owner had put a tune on it or not but the trans would jump back and forth between 1st and 2nd driving through a parking lot, down shift hard while deaccelrating to a stop, and had lag in shift under hard acceleration. Although I haven't had a chance to really put it through the paces, all that seems to be gone and it shifts like it should have from the start. It is literally night and day. I don't know enough about all things to go into a good tune but SVC's design logic just makes sense to me and so far performs better than I had hoped. I'll update as I go but right now would recommend "The Tune" with confidence to anyone.

Drove it to a casino. Split $2,000 between myself and my wife and played blackjack for an hour and a half. Won $25,000!

Too bad it was only play money at a Christmas dinner and turned in that play money for raffle tickets. Won a $25 restaurant gift card! Drove it home.

If we played with real money, I would have won $0 and left $2,000 poorer.
