It doesn't necessarily have a stop, but the ground keeps it from opening to far. The length is adjustable depending on the height of the truck. I can take some more detailed pics if you're interested.

I was more worried about it swinging and hitting the edge of your tailgate if you were parked on uneven ground where the back of the truck would be higher than normal.

Yep, they are! Check out the videos on their site. And that was one of the selling points. I'll be hunting and doing some jumping. So this will be on/off throughout the year.

Hockster has the ARE cover as well and runs his while off-roading. He hasn't had an issue yet. Even at Havoc in the hills where there was some rough terrain.

Got it muddy did yeah?

I tried to get the salt off my truck at DIY car wash, but, I'll have to go back tomorrow. To finish.

It was salty enough that all the spots where water can collect left white streaks down the truck by the time I got home and it dried off.

Installed my HD springs from WSI today. It sets a little higher but rides smoother than stock. I only have 23,000 miles on my truck and the stock springs were already weakening. Apparently they aren't designed to last.
