Got my head unit and speakers in. wow what a difference
So as many have, I was suffering from a weak stero. Speakers were distorting all the time. So I figured lets do a quick speaker swap, went and grabbed some JBL component sets at Best Buy. Then I was think, how in the heck could all the speakers real go bad at the same time, right. I wanted nav any way so I bought the Kenwood Ddx9902s, which doesn't have Nav but it allows to mirror smartphone, which to me ment I shouldn't have to worry about updating the maps. So first I did the speaker so compare to stock with stock head unit, and I'll say it was huge, no distortion but still seemed short on volume. Then I put the head unit in, which required the Maestro RR I datalink, which seems overwhelming but seriously if you follow the destructions, it's not that bad, about 10-15 wires to solder. Once all the harness were together the installation was pretty plug and play. Still have steering wheel controls sync (+) I can see tire pressures/air fuel ratio and a bunch of other thing. Maestro has in going on with their data integration. Enough of that, back to the sound, once everything was back together it was again like night and day. The additional power 5v in the head unit compared to stock and the additional equalizer make a very respectable combination. All in all a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Well morning/noon/evening anyway.
