The splash guard kit that includes the mid-flap is made by Weathetech.
Mid flaps like that are pretty common on offroad race trucks. Helps to protect undercarriages from being rock/sand blasted. The correct way to do it is with a soft/flexible rubber sheet that will freely move and not be snapped off easily.
Ps, not saying this is a racetruck but probably where that idea comes from. And if I were buying a used truck with those it might be a plus knowing that underside might be in better shape because of it…

Raptor is basically a trophy truck.
i have known a few guys that had them. it probably would have helped me too. i have had so many rocks kick up, it broke my e brake connection on my passenger rear wheel. as well as destroyed the shock towers and guards. while they look like crap, they do help. big joke is that it keeps the dust down.

Im dealing with a bit of a middle flap myself. Need to cut back on the beer.
I heard switching to Bud Light can help.

Not likely a concern, my 18 resides north of IL (garage kept), 70k miles no rust on body at all, daily driver year-round.
I would hope not, with aluminum body panels. It's the undercarriage that many are concerned about regarding rust.

Well the underbody starts rusting as soon as the trucks are delivered.
