Hello all, quick question! How long did you have to wait before your truck had a VIN? I put a deposit down a little over a month ago, but no VIN yet. I'm assuming that this is a normal wait time, I just want to confirm! Thanks in advance!

Did you place the order, or just give them a deposit? I gave my dealer a deposit mid June for my 2022, but couldn't order until 10/1, when the books opened.

It’s so funny how different all the information out there is. Would be nice if ford just came out and said something!

My dealer said he was told by ford that retail orders were being prioritized due to the units being “sold” already and won’t sit on a lot. Who knows what to believe at this point
My understanding is that Ford is indeed prioritizing retail over dealer stock orders but they always have a certain intro qty in each MY they have to meet for quality checks before they can start scheduling retail orders. So in theory, once that qty is met they *should* switch to prioritizing retail orders. At least, thats the info ive seen across a few different forums and was also somewhat touched on in the order confirmation email I got from Ford.

    • 22MY Bronco startup scheduling will begin this Thursday, October 28th (stock and retail orders).

    • Final 21MY F-150 orders were due on Thursday, September 30. Spec changes and cancellation were shut off on Thursday, September 30.

    • Painted Over-the-top Stripe (47W) - GT500's with the Tape Stripe will have to remove the option in order to schedule.

That makes a lot of sense. Curious how long that usually takes. I bet we don’t see a raptor vin scheduled until at least mid- late November

Word is that the actual scheduling starts this week (Thursday) for the first F-150 production week of 11/29, including Raptors. Those would be for orders that had dealer allocations (make sure your dealer had an allocation for you). How many orders will be in that first scheduling run? Who knows?

Thanks for the input. I did ask if the dealer had an allocation and was told yes, I just wasnt sure if that was true considering the time ive waited so far. It looks like everything is as it should be. Its just a long process!

Ordered a '21 mid June never got a VIN. Now waiting on a '22. Nobody knows for sure how long it will take. It's a roll of the dice.
That sucks, man. I'm sorry to hear that! Im just hoping I dont get stuck in limbo, but it looks like thats just the way it is!

I placed an order to my knowledge. I was told that they "Already put the order through" shortly after I paid the deposit. Man, Im just hoping this doesnt turn into a year long wait. I keep trying to be optimistic, but from the look of it I might as well just forget about the thing until it comes in. Depressing.

Supposedly my dealer had 5 allocations, and Ford chose to only build 4 of them, which happened to be all dealer stock orders. Mine was the only Retail (customer) order of the group. All the orders went in at the same time; mid-June, and the 4 being build just got VIN's few weeks ago and are in various stages of production. It's a waiting game that leaves much to be desired from a customer experience stand point.

So are they giving you one of the dealer stock trucks to purchase?

FYI - today the ford vehicle tracking web page does not seem to be working. I found an allocated order last week (order date was June) for a white 37 and put a deposit on it. got the window sticker and VIN off the web page. last friday it showed was in production as of 10/21. today can't check on the status . says I have bad info :( how are people contacting Ford directly?
