not to sound like and ass but do they go in order as far as building them. like my vin # is 327xx so mine will be built before yours?
Yeah, not to disappoint, but I think you were given some bad info. Its not going into production next week. The last 5 digits of my VIN is 35XXX which is approx. 12,000 trucks before yours and mine is scheduled for the week of 12/19. But at least you got your VIN!

That is my understanding but I will defer to the experts like Randy or GJMcManus.

Ford Motor Company VINs are assigned at the moment the order is accepted, not when the vehicle is produced. Actual sequence has nothing to do with the number itself, but instead production sequence is based on many other factors such as commonality, work load, factory capacity, and the destination of the car after it is produced.

This method of assigning VINs has been in place for many decades. If a batch of cars is in fact produced in exact numerical sequence, it is happenstance and takes place only because of at least one common factor as I mentioned above. There is no exception to this practice, even with the car having the lowest total production (the Mark II Continentals 3000 built 1300 sold) which could have easily been built in strict numerical sequence.

I hope that explains the production sequence number in your vehicle identification number.

On a side note, at the end of the production year. You can contact SVT and get your certificate which shows your production date and build number.

I was always under the impression that VIN#'s were in order by production, as in the order they roll off the assembly line, and not in order by just the order the orders were pulled

so if i had vin# 00001 it could be built last and vin# 99999 could be built first?

No, but a good example would be Randy customers. He has ordered 50+ Raptors. Some of his first were "sold" units that have not been built. They will have lower vin numbers than the 3-4 "stock" units that have been built and delivered. All depends on when the order was accepted. If that makes any sense.

On top of that since DTP produces almost every model in the F150 line. In between Raptor orders there are everyone elses 2012 F150 orders. Then you could have fleet and government orders of 50 units that would get batched built in the middle.

Example: customer "A" and customer "B" order the same color and the same options Raptor at the same time. During the same time fleet order of 50 white trucks, and government order of 50 brown trucks. Plus dealer stock units of 50 units were processed. So customer "A" raptor would be 0000051 because stock orders were pulled first. Customer "B" raptor would be 0000152 after fleet and government orders. Then customer "a" unit was held for quality hold due to the fact it was first run of 2012. The fleet government orders would ship followed by stock order and both customer orders. Customer "b" raptor is being delivered to saint loius and arrives in a week after shipment. Customer "a" raptor is shipped to benica california and arrives at dealership two weeks later. Even though customer "a" raptor was built first it was delivered last. And customer "b" unit was last built it was the first delivered.
