Icom radios have to be programmed. Outlaw buys them from PCI Racing radios so come with a couple channels used by outlaw. If you want more programmed I can load it up. I carry my Icom programming kit with me so if your on a run I am on I can setup the radios to whatever channel the group uses. I can also change the boot screen from outlaw to your last name or first name. even your screen name...

I also have a Icom for sale F5021 with magnetic mount and antenna. Will come pre loaded with channels plus I can setup your local fire and police if the use VHF.... 300.00 shipped

So the channels that come on it are the basic channels we use out in the desert. You can't just pick a channel and call it good during that run. What about the signal bars.

My icom, purchased from pci, came pre programmed with the most popular race frequencies. The Raptor events usually use these frequencies. You can program any of them with the right cable and your computer.

I don't think it has signal bars on mine...From racing radios I think its just 151.625... weatherman channel...

And just pick a channel if I meet up with other raptors and make sure they pick the same?

For example this weekend we will run 156.625 which is not a standard channel but a commercial channel. The reality is we all take for grant it what we run. The FCC says in the USA you can not run any channel without a license. But if you need to communicate you need to. I would prefer to apologize for broadcasting where I am not suppose to than have 500 search and rescue people trying to find me, and possible death...

Here is a list you may or may not have them programmed...

Other common frequencies in offroad racing include:

151.625 - Weatherman
151.715 - BFG Relay / SNORE / MORE
154.980 - Baja Pits
151.925 - Checkers
151.505 - Checkers Vegas
153.395 - BFG Pits
153.380 - Mag 7
153.245 - CORE
151.775 - Locos Mocos
151.490 - BITD

WARNING: DO NOT rely on the above listings to have your radio programmed, as they may be subject to change. Check with your race sanctioning body, race organizers, and your radio supplier for current frequencies applicable to your activity.
