1 - USPS sucks! I sent 7 packages over the holidays 2 day and only 1 package arrived in 2 days. Never send USPS as they lose shit all the time and they don't consider it lost until after 90-days.

2 - I also ordered from a vendor over the holidays and the package never arrived via USPS. This vendor provided great customer service and offered a $25 discount and to overnight the new package via FEDEX. And this vendor is AMBLighting. I actually gave him a lot shit as he could not remember when he shipped it and how he shipped it. In the end, he made it right.

So I think it should be the vendor that takes cares of your lost package. This is the cost of doing business. This vendor shot himself in the foot by not buying insurance.

so just an update, i never received any emails back after the two that i sent stating that they should take responsibility since they never insured etc, etc. but i did receive a notice that my money has been refunded. Now the question is where do i order the parts again? unfortunately if I say what they are it'll be obvious who the vendor is. i really don't want to give my business to them after no replies and just merely getting a computer generated email saying they refunded my money.

Spill the beans

If a vender has customer service like that you should post who they are so other people don't get screwed like you did. If enough negitive response is out there they will have to change their ways or go out of business. As far USPS goes if that is the only shipping method offered by a company I would find another company to do business with. Your better off having your package strapped to a homing pigeon than delievered by USPS. Sounds like it's time to change credit card company also.

i'm sure i'm in the minority and they did refund my money so i don't really want to drag someone's name through the mud, everyone needs to make a living and eat somehow. PM me and i'll tell you who it is.

A.) you should have asked if said product was insured, if not you should have asked for it to be insured

B.) Vendor should have insured product anyways

C.) Never ship anything of value through USPS...trust me I'm a Gov't employee

D.) Vendor should make things right if he wants to stay in business and keep loyal customers... I speak from experience my friend. Get the mods involved, I'm sure he pays advertising on here.

Edit: File a claim with your credit card company anyways..... **** Em

Also next time try using a third party like Paypal... their resolution center is ****. I actually have one pending right now as we speak. :)

Also next time try using a third party like Paypal...i may just use paypal from now on, i know there dispute resolution is great

Let's be realistic... how many of you that order parts online see a box where it gives you an option to "insure" your part delivery? Nobody does that.

Secondly, even if they DID... how many of you would choose to pay extra to insure your own shipment? Not many people.

It's not standard practice to insure every package that gets sent out, aside from high-dollar shipments (like full sets of shocks, etc). However, they could require a signature, which is still a large inconvenience to most people that aren't there during the day.

Sounds like the perfect storm of crap... and nobody wants to be "on the hook" for the lost package, and you can't blame the vendor for not wanting to ship the second item free of charge. At the very least, like somebody else said, a discounted price or "cost" would seem like a suitable option.

Sucks man... I feel for you.

Oh, USPS blows.

You're absolutely right, however in these instances the seller (as long as hes insured as a business) will be covered for these "misfortunes". You're not buying from a private seller who holds little responsibility.

I'll be the first to admit I don't always ask about insurance. The reason behind that is if I'm buying from a business I'd expect them to cover all costs if any damage, theft or loss occurs. 99% of the time anything happens this is the way it has worked out for me. That 1% PayPal or CC has gotten involved.

A few shippers will cover the first $100; I believe UPS does this.

Edit: Glad it worked out by the way
